This is the first full spread of the brag book I made for my baby girl using Project Life mini album and Project Life Kit Baby Edition for Her. This covers the first and second trimester as well as the ultrasounds.
This spread is probably one of the more scrapbook-y ones since I had to include ephemera such as the ultrasound. I also think I was more enthusiastic about this spread because it was the first full spread.
In general, I tried to keep this baby album as simple as possible so that I could finish it quickly. Since I had to make 3 of these to send to the grandparents as gifts, I didn’t do anything too crafty due to time constraints (and also because I am not that crafty).
Most of my journaling was done on top of the photos themselves so I didn’t have to do a lot of arrows pointing this way and that. Because I didn’t have a lot of photos, the photos are not really arranged in a chronological fashion on the spread, they just went wherever they fit (whether horizontally or vertically). I used this Sakura Metallic Gel Pen to write on the photo itself.
This Project Life spread shows photos of me during my 1st and 2nd trimester as well as the ultrasounds.
I didn’t have a lot of photos to choose from because I apparently did not take a lot of photos at that time. I wasn’t really in the mood to take photos because I didn’t feel that great or I didn’t think I looked that great. Now I regret it and wish I did take more photos, or at least a photo each month so I could see my belly get bigger. But, I have enough photos to represent, so it’s not too bad.
The two photos at the top left page shows me during the 1st trimester at 3 weeks pregnant. We did not know I was pregnant when we shot these photos. I needed some updated photos so we just shot a couple of portraits inside my apartment complex.
I remember being annoyed that in a lot of these shots, my tummy was big even though I had just recently lost weight. I remember asking my husband around this time why I couldn’t button some of my shirts even though I supposedly lost weight. If this was a TV show or movie, everyone in the audience would have figured it out already. Looking back, I should have put 2 and 2 together and realized that I was pregnant.
The bottom left photo is of us at the doctor’s office, waiting to find out the sex of the baby. The bottom right card is just a filler card from the Project Life Kit Baby Edition for Her.
We had to get an initial ultrasound at 8 weeks and 6 days because we did not know when the baby as conceived. I used some washi tape to attach the ultrasound photo.
I looked up what the size of the fetus would be for this age so that it would be easier to imagine the size. I wrote down, “size of a grape”.
The right page shows photos of our second ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby. It says, “size of a bell pepper” at 18 weeks and 5 days. On the bottom left photo is a picture of me during the 2nd trimester at 18 weeks.
I accidentally cut off the number 2 in 2nd trimester when I rounded the corners. I need to remember not to write too close to the edge, otherwise it gets cut off when rounded.
